Faith in Color

I asked a friendly co-worker to sit for me recently, and she very helpfully agreed. There’s nothing too fancy about these shots but I love seeing how the camera (Canon EOS 60D with a 24-105 f4 lens) played with the light and color and texture.

For the light, I balanced shooting with 2- or 3-light setups. sometimes lighting the backdrops and sometimes not.

For the color, I had the color of the backdrops, her scarves, her hair and her eyes.

For texture, I had her curls, her skin and the beautiful scarves she brought with her.

It’s amazing that she is becoming so comfortable assuming the poses I ask of her. In this  case, especially, the poses that embody the spirit of pietyare amazing, even though she swears she’s not as innocent as she looks!

All in all, it was a short but very fulfilling session.
