Like a lot of enthusiast photographers, struggle to find a balance between acquiring the big cameras and lenses I think I need and justifying the expense these items often require.
Lately though, I’ve been preoccupied with doing more with less. Fewer lenses, but better ones, smaller cameras, but ones that can do what I need them to do. To that end, I recently purchased a Canon Powershot 300 HS, a small point-and-shoot with a wide-angle 24mm-equivalent 5X lens that can fit in my shirt pocket with little fuss.
I’m loving it. If the best camera is the one you have with you then the 300 HS, and the lovely pictures I captures, may turn out to be my best camera purchase ever.
